The way Boden priced their new arrivals is a bit confusing. Almost everything looks great, but shirts and other basics are oddly expensive compared to their blazers and outerwear. They’re even selling their shorts for $68.
Seventy bucks for shorts? J. Crew doesn’t even do that. Which would you rather have, one of Boden’s brand new do anything casual unstructured blazers? Or… two pairs of their shorts. I think most of us would take the jacket, and head to the Gap for our shorts fix.
Boden isn’t the largest retailer out there and they use that to their advantage. They’re based in London, have a smallish but interesting line, and they don’t discount that often. So if you’re waiting for any of these to go on sale, you might be twiddling your thumbs for awhile.

These appear to be the flagship of their menswear line. Garment washed, unstructured, two button front and side vents in the rear. The blue striped and brown striped are both 100% cotton, while the other solid options are an almost even cotton / linen blend. They should be light, easy to wear, and a great piece for your tailor to perfect.
.
Boden excels at simple, fun, casual stuff. These are basic leather drivers, nubby sole and all, but the colorful stitching square right at the tongue might ruin it for some. Barefoot in the summer please.
.
Made from Italian cotton with just a touch (2%) of elastane. You could get cheaper, and the words “comfortable fit” in the description cause some concern… but this is the year to get a great, ready to wear whenever and wherever cotton summer suit. So keep this one in mind. Appears to be not quite white, not quite khaki. Great color.
.
The best of their new arrivals and quite possibly the top new 3-season coat of the year. The brown (on the left, not the khaki in the center) is actually a very subtle looking check with a small navy stripe. That one, unlike the others which are 100% cotton, is made up of 41% nylon. That should do wonders for it’s ability to repel water, all while not feeling plastic-y. Covered placket, tabs at the cuffs, and no belt? Looks like an affordable winner.
