Would you wear it? The L.L. Bean Signature Wool Trench

L.L. Bean Signature Wool Trench Coat – $175.00 (reg. $250)

The price is right, the fabric looks great, and the brand is one I think we’re all keeping a closer eye on.  But something about it just says bathrobe to me.  And I’m a trench guy through and through:

This thing from Banana Republic was probably the best purchase I made all year.  I don’t usually wear it with the belt, and I think you could easily get away with going beltless on the L.L. Bean Signature too… but I’m still not quite sure on the overall package.

It’s 70% wool and 30% alpaca.  So no synthetic which is great.  But maybe it’s the combination of the length and the textured wooliness which makes it look slightly bathrobish.  (Or is it bathrobeish?  Bathrobesque?)

Two exterior hand pockets, a couple pockets on the interior, and it’s fully lined.  Functional buttons at the cuffs per the L.L. Bean Signature usual.

On sale for $175, which is about what you’d pay for a cheap topcoat from Express.

But would you wear it?  Leave your vote in the comments section below…
