Boden Big Winter Sale 2010

Boden’s Up to 50% off Winter Sale – 2010

You’ve got to hand it to Boden.  When it comes to the mid-sized, online, affordable but still stylish retailers… they seem to be holding their own.  They’re geared  more towards women, but their men’s selections offer plenty of options.  And they’re in a price range somewhere between Lands End Canvas and most of LL Bean Signature.

Their quality seems to be good if not great (see Ryan’s review of their Portobello Jacket in the comments section here), and they trade ethically.  Their stuff is designed in London, and this is by far and away the most I’ve ever seen them discount.  Size availability seems to be a bit scattered, so you might not want to wait.  Here’s a few idea starters…
.

Boden Blazers:  Everyday Jacket & Portobello Jacket – $98.00 (reg. $140)

Both available in other color options

The thing that’s unique about the Everyday Jacket in Navy, is that you get the traditional lighter button effect without the shine of gold/brass.  They’re lighter horn type buttons, which stand out but look a little less yacht club.  The Portobello Jacket in the Prince of Wales pattern has been a personal wish list item for awhile now…
.

The Boden Overcoat – $149.00 (reg. $290)

Three options and most sizes to pick from

The louder olive check and sharp herringbone are both wool, while the plain black coat comes in thick moleskin cotton.  Semi fitted so they might need a trip to the tailor if you like your coats extra slim.  Unbelievably affordable.
.

Boden Cardigans:  Fine Gauge & Everyday Cardigan – $42.00 (reg. $84)

Button up for winter.

$84 might seem a little pricey for a cardigan, but they are lambswool.  Hand wash only and there are a few different colors and patterns to check out.
.

The Boden Bag:  Weekend Holdall – $99.00 (reg. $134)

And it doesn't say "Puma" on it.

I know for a fact that there are guys who frequent this site who’d like to make an upgrade to their duffel/weekend/gym bag… but think something like an all leather is just too persnickety.  Here’s your alternative.  Heavyweight cotton canvas, web handles, under $100.
.

The Boden Present for Her:  The Stripy 6-foot Merino Wool Scarf – $24.00 (reg. $40)

Stripes. Women. What a great combination.

There’s just something about a great looking woman wearing something with stripes.  Plus, the ladies seem to like a bit of color pop in their accessories during this time of year.  Maybe it reminds them of spring.  Made of merino wool and under $25.  Plenty long to keep her plenty warm, even if it’s the only thing she’s wearing.  (Just sayin’.)
