St. Ives Fresh Skin Invigorating Face Scrub – $5.79 / 10 oz
Even if you’re a bar soap kind of guy, it’s good to have something like an exfoliating scrub on hand for when your face gets extra greasy. Post general admission concert / extra long day at work / just got back from a weekend in the woods greasy. When it looks like you’ve got a light film of shine all over your face, and if you rubbed your hand across your forehead it’d look like you just pushed your palm into a bucket of KFC.
St. Ives is one of the originals in making gritty feeling natural cleansing products. This stuff is one of their flagship products, and it’s like orange pumice mechanics soap only for your face. And not nearly as harsh.
The grit comes from ground up walnut shells, corn meal, and there’s some apricot extract in there for good measure. (Click here for an up close shot). This is the real deal and you can feel it scrape (in a good way) when you’re using it.
The directions suggest you use it only 3 – 4 days a week max. Any more than that and you’re likely to do more harm than good. Available just about anywhere.
