A lot of guys have an understandable zero-tolerance policy when it comes to logos. And that’s just fine. We’re an over-logoed society. But some logos are more classic than others, and the Original Penguin trademark is just subtle and preppy enough that it doesn’t take away from a garment.
The Original Penguin Caviar Cotton V-Neck hits all the right points for a modern 100% cotton sweater. The knit is nice and tight, the fit is trim, and the collar is neither too thick or too thin.
You also get two shoulder seams instead of just the usual one across the very top of the shoulders. This sweater has a seam on the front and back, forming a sort of shoulder panel area that looks sporty and feels a little more solid. (Help me out, I’m sure there’s a term for this type of shoulder seaming, but I have no clue what it is.)
The one drawback is you should avoid throwing this in your dryer. Mine shrunk a touch in the length after I ignored the “lay flat to dry” warning on the tag. It didn’t destroy it, but it’s right on the border of being too short now.
