J. Crew SALE – 25% off orders over $150 with code TURKEY
Ends Sunday 11/28 at 11:59pm ET | Credit to Ken for the styletip
In the fog of impending black Friday discounts, a 25% off coupon code might not seem that impressive. But this one’s for J. Crew which rarely discounts more than this. It’s site-wide but restricted to purchases that total $150 or more. Use the code TURKEY at checkout and you’ll knock 25% of. Works on sale too. Let’s do some damage.
.
Combo #1: Ludlow Cord Sport Coat + Lambswool V-Neck + Rugby Sock = $113.99

Buying these three together gets you to $151.99 before the discount. Both the cord coat and sweater on sale, so the pre-sale pre-discount price is actually $210. Saving $100 right before the holidays on three pieces you could wear pretty much every day? Thanks for the code J. Crew. There’s a darker brown option for the cord sport coat, and tons of color options for the V-Neck sweater.
.
Combo #2: Fine Lambswool Mockneck Cardigan + Sterling Silver Tie Clip = $118.50

The mockneck cardigan is the most under-appreciated casual sweater out there. Unlike a standard cardigan, it’s beefier and much younger looking. It’ll be your go-to extra layer between now and April. Plus, if it’s a little warmer where you live, layer it under a cotton utility jacket and you’re set. If it’s bitter cold out you’ll want this under your topcoat and scarf. The Sterling Silver Tie Clip is the right amount of luxury with the right amount of texture at a good price thanks to the 25% off. $158 before the discount.
.
Combo #3: Rugged Twill Messenger + Stripe Knit Hat = $114.75

The rugged twill messenger might get more play on this site than anything else. And why not? It hits all the right points. It’s cold out now for most of us. Winter hat weather. The striped hat looks great, and is made up of a a cornucopia of materials: “Wool/viscose/polyamide/angora/cashmere” Uh… Sure. $153 before the discount.
The J. Crew 25% off $150 with code TURKEY sale ends Sunday 11/28
I have the blazer, lambswool V-neck, and messenger bag. I have to say that I can recommend all 3. The blazer is well fitted and I didn’t have to get it tailored at all (I wear a 38S and I believe I got a size small). The lambswool is very nice and has gotten compliments, and it also does well keeping you warm. I love the J.Crew lambswool, I have a couple pieces in different styles.
Finally, the messenger bag is very rugged and has so far held up very well. Keep in mind that it is not a fitted, sleeve-type bag. There is some room on the inside and no extra padding aside from the canvas. This initially concerned me but in practice has provided plenty of protection for my use. I like how it has 2 inner half-pockets and 2 outer pockets. Plenty of storage.
That cord jacket was only available in X-large now. Any thoughts on the dark slate 8 wale cord sport coat?
@Alex: Dang, those are moving fast. So, you want thoughts on this one? Looks like it’s the on sale version of this regular sale new arrival. I think the flapped chest pocket and larger eight-wale make it a little less versatile. It’s heavily sport-influenced. Which is good or bad, depending on what you want to use it for?
@Joe I was looking for versatility. I thing im out of the market though…scored a black cord from the j. Crew outlet for 50 bucks. Not an outlet piece either it appears to be overstock from 2008 winter line. Legacy blazer, ludlow fit, perfect sizing (42L), and a wale so fine it actually looks more like velvet. Doesn’t even need tailoring. Returned the black ON that I got for 25 that was gonna need 30 in alterations. Life is good! Thanks for the response!
Out of curiosity, what exactly would the 8 wale jacket be good for? Looks more like true outerwear than a blazer to me? Is dark slate black?
I had been waiting to purchase their tweed jacket for some time. When I went to order, I noticed it was 15 dollars more than it was a few weeks ago. Anyone else notice this with items on the website?
