Express Tweed Producer Pant – $59.90 (reg. $79.90)

It’s not easy finding a tweed pant that doesn’t look like it fell out of an old man’s closet. The latest edition of the Express Producer Pant fills that void with a modern cut, wool mix pant in grey (not brown) tweed.
Purists would ask if you can really call something tweed if it’s not 100% wool. And these absolutely are not. They’re a combination of wool and synthetic fibers (with the majority of the fabric made up of the latter) but they don’t feel like plastic. Instead, they feel like a smoothed out version of nubby tweed.
The fit is straight with some room to move. So if you like your pants especially trim, these aren’t for you. The look and even the feel of the pant would be hard to pass up for any guy looking for a new pair of wear to work / out on the town pants.
I wore a pair of plain gray stretch-cotton producers to the store, and when I took them off to put these on it was an immediate and noticeable upgrade. The texture, color mix… not a bad choice for this time of year.
Just under $60 so the max you’ll save with a mailing list coupon is $15. Dry clean only.
.
i bought a pair of these in ’08, and they were great the last two yrs. It is time however to get a new pair, the crouch have worn out on these bad boys and they are no longer wearable. They were only used during the winter season, which didnt give them heavy use, but the synthethic blend IMO caused them to wear out alot faster. I do like the style it provides at a decent price point, I beleive I paid 29 dollars for these when it was all said and done. i would and will buy another pair.
any ideas on where i can find a brown pair relatively cheap?…
Hmm. I have 2 pairs of these they look nice, but you can definitely tell the quality is lacking.
Hey Joe,
As you know I did purchase these pants 2 weeks ago. I am a fan of them, but I will be getting them tapered.
i ordered these online. after i got them they needed to be pressed from all the wrinkles due to shipping. And wouldn’t you know it? the material is already falling apart. 50% polyester!! 13% wool? these feel so cheap and itchy. I’m promptly going to return them and seek out 100% wool pants for the fall. Express is just getting worse each season.
@sartorial: Eeesh. Not a fan. I gotta say when I tried them on / held them in store they didn’t feel itchy to me at all.
