The $350 John Varvatos Three Piece Suit

Before we all start doing hand springs off our sartorial pommel horses, note that it’s not wool.  It’s cotton.  Actually it’s a cotton blend.  And they don’t say what percent is cotton and what percent is Rayon.  But speaking from personal experience with an 80% cotton 20% poly blend DKNY suit I got off GILT not too long ago, they’re not bad.  Again, until a tag is seen the ratio won’t be known, but although it’s not wool, it’s certainly not the end of the world either.

The lapels are slim, and like the wool blazer from Varvatos featured previously in the tweed blazer battle royale, the buttons seemed to be placed a little bit lower than most two-button jackets you see these days.  Which some prefer, and one could argue that when paired with the vest it’s a big advantage.  Because what’s the point of a three piece if you can’t really see any of the vest?  (Like with this version from Express)
