You can save a boatload buying out of season, but when it comes to summer-only pieces like these Irish Linen suits from LL. Bean Signature, you’ll pay for them in spent patience. But it’s probably worth it in the end to get this suit, at this price.
Barron over at TheEffortlessGent bought a similar looking L.L. Bean Signature Cotton Suit and gave it high marks. All of their jackets look like they come with a killer cut, which should be easy for your tailor to work off of once it arrives. The L.L. Bean Signature line leans younger, trimmer, targets the more style conscious. Plus, they’re still a pretty well kept secret. LL. Bean Signature just doesn’t promote themselves all that much, so pieces like this end up hitting the sale rack with all of the usual sizes still available.
This particular suit happens to be made from 100% Irish Linen, so wearing both the pants and jacket between now and May will leave you looking a little out of place. In the meantime, break it up and wear the dark khaki jacket with a pair of jeans. It’s an easy combination that’ll let you get some use out of the jacket during the colder months.
