L.L. Bean Signature Kennebunk Linen Blazer – $99.00 (reg. $200) | Pant – $47.50 (reg. $95)
You can save a boatload buying out of season, but when it comes to summer-only pieces like these Irish Linen suits from LL. Bean Signature, you’ll pay for them in spent patience. But it’s probably worth it in the end to get this suit, at this price.
Barron over at TheEffortlessGent bought a similar looking L.L. Bean Signature Cotton Suit and gave it high marks. All of their jackets look like they come with a killer cut, which should be easy for your tailor to work off of once it arrives. The L.L. Bean Signature line leans younger, trimmer, targets the more style conscious. Plus, they’re still a pretty well kept secret. LL. Bean Signature just doesn’t promote themselves all that much, so pieces like this end up hitting the sale rack with all of the usual sizes still available.
This particular suit happens to be made from 100% Irish Linen, so wearing both the pants and jacket between now and May will leave you looking a little out of place. In the meantime, break it up and wear the dark khaki jacket with a pair of jeans. It’s an easy combination that’ll let you get some use out of the jacket during the colder months.

Which do you prefer – the khaki or navy?
I picked up the navy blazer last month. Very happy with it, it feels well made. Had the sleeves & waist taken in.
Hey Joe,
Appreciate the mention!
I agree that the cuts of the LLBean signature stuff is actually pretty great, though to get that perfect fit you still need a tailor’s touch, which is expected.
Love the suggestion about wearing the jacket with jeans. Hopefully men have caught on by now. I love mixing unusual summer cloths with heavier winter ones (merino wool sweater under my linen jacket). It’s always unexpected yet still looks great. I’m a fan of putting unexpected items together and hopefully men will learn to be more daring when it comes to that.
Damn it Joe you giving out too many pearls! 😀 I was already going for that look myself this fall…except I’m leaning more for flannel in a similar color.
A couple of the reviews say the sleeves run long. Might be a problem for me since I have somewhat shorter arms for my height.
