Surprise. Express has launched their most recent massive wave of markdowns in the form of a select merchandise sale. And unlike some select merchandise sales (more on that on Friday)… this one has some decent picks. You can save on pieces even more conservative guys can work into their wardrobes. It’s not all lime green shirts and logo emblazoned track jackets this time. Here’s some of the best from this current sale…

Ink Blue. That’s a great color to build the foundation of your suit collection on. And the Stretch Wool suit collection by Express is a solid entry level option for athletic guys. The shoulders have some padding but not too much, and the jackets come pre-tapered. You’ll still need to have tailoring done, but if you’re younger and in the market for an inexpensive, almost ready to wear off the rack suit? This could be it.

There are some advantages and disadvantages to this shirt. If you need a french cuff shirt, it’s almost impossible to find one that’s slim. This one is the modern fit, which is brought in but not as slim fit as the “fitted” version of the 1mx. The price is unreal, but the sizing is the inexact S, M, L, XL.

It’s almost always easier to grow and harvest a plant than an animal. That’s why coated cotton biker jackets are always less expensive than leather. For the guys who need a fall jacket but aren’t in love with the utility cotton / khaki look.

Not the orange one. Not the light purple one. Not the “raspberry” (c’mon, that’s pink) one. This one. Black. White stripes. Wouldn’t look too bad with that Navy suit up top either..

Careful now. It’s sateen. So it’ll have a bit of a shine to it, but if it’s at the same shine level as their sateen summer suits… it’ll be tolerable. Might even be a nice touch for the guys who like to stand out a little more. Just don’t go too over the top with the rest of your outfit.
