It wasn’t that long ago that we were all asking where all the affordable blazers had gone. Well, found two.
If you’re going out for dinner and drinks, the easiest way to set yourself apart from the untucked button-up wearing male masses is to throw on a blazer. A tailored slim one at that. It gives you shape, makes you look more powerful, and you can always offer it to a woman if she looks like she’s feeling cold. Chances are she won’t take it, but she’ll be impressed with the fact that you’re not a totally heartless wad of nothing.
Steer clear from the scratchy plastic poly blazers (which actually sound like snow pants when the sleeves rub against the body), and go with a mainly cotton blend. Make sure the shoulder pads are low profile and the jacket its pre-darted at the sides. Then take it to your tailor and have it taken in even more.
Either of these from the Macy’s house brand INC fulfill all those requirements. Get the slim Augusti in the black light pinstripe and pair it with jeans, an oxford, and yes a smooth sweater vest with the weather turns cooler. Go with gray for the Core two button and wear it with a gingham shirt until the leaves being to change color.
