How many times have you gotten out of a gray or black car, in a gray or black suit, wearing a gray or black coat, carrying gray or black luggage… on another rainy night in, uh, gray ol’ Scotland?
Aside from that last bit, it’s probably not that rare of an occurrence.
Gray, Black, Blue. Your clothes, your car, your shoes, your luggage. The majority of what you’re seen out in public is most likely cool, dark, and in all honesty, a good choice. But there’s nothing wrong with a warmer brown tone for your weekend bag.
You don’t have to match your luggage. The opposite is probably a better path. And a brown bag with leather accents says: “I’m out of here. Excuse me while I joyfully smash this thing into the overhead compartment.”
The Perry Ellis Leather Trimmed Duffel is dirt cheap, has that classic barn shape, and is a good step up from whatever Adidas gym duffel you might be lugging around. The Marc New York is more of an investment, but it’s made of rustic coated canvas, leather end panels, and would look right at home at the foot of your hotel bed.
