Brooks Brothers and Levi’s Partner Up

Levi’s Jeans For Brooks Brothers – $148.00

Yes.  That much.  I’ll even write it out in personal check form:

One Hundred Forty Eight and 00/100 ~~~~~~~~~~~~

That’s a lot of green for one pair of Blue Jeans.  But, Brooks Brothers makes a semi-compelling case:

“No two brands have done more to outfit the men that built America than Brooks Brothers and Levi’s… These jeans are part of a carefully crafted assortment of sophisticated and classic styles in a range of timeless finishes and washes, made by Levi’s exclusively for Brooks Brothers… Made in the USA of imported fabric”

Ahhhh.  There it is.  They’re made in the US, not overseas.  When Brooks Brothers dropped the link onto their facebook fan page (yes they have one), people started losing their minds over the price.  Here was the official response from the Brooks Brothers social media team:

“…each of these jeans is crafted and hand-finished in a factory in Los Angeles using imported materials. The collection is the latest in an ongoing series of special collaborations… for both brands and re-affirms a shared commitment to products that are “made in America”. “

The available fits are the classic 501, the 514 Slim Straight, and the older-guy ready 505 regular fit, which even comes in a particularly Dadish “Indigo Iconic Wash.”  Somebody get the President on the phone… he might want to know about those.

Who knows if these will end up going on sale anytime soon, but if you read carefully, the facebook representative said that these are part of an “ongoing series of special collaborations.”

Hm.  Wonder what’s next.

You interested in the American Made $148 Levi’s?  Or do you need a pair that’s a third of the cost?  Levi’s 501s are on sale at Macy’s for $36.99:

I really like that pair of Levi’s 501s you have on the bottom. I just ordered one now.

Don’t really understand the hype around these. At that price point you’d probably be better served getting a pair of raw denim from brands like APC or Naked & Famous. With this option you’re getting a slightly better made jean at five times the cost of the original.

“No two brands have done more to outfit the men that built America than Brooks Brothers and Levi’s” … and if there were three, add Dickies to that list.

    Brooks Brothers and Dickies colab?
