Express Signature Polo Sale – May 2010

Express Signature Polo Sale –  $20.70 | $15 each if you buy 3 (promo code 7283)

...
Even the striped version is on sale.

Say what you want about any drawbacks to the Express 1MX oxford, because the Express Signature Polo has none.  These polos have no equal.  Period.  And now they’ve gone back on sale for a little over $20, or just over $15 if you stock up and buy three.

These are not pique box weave polos. The fabric is mainly cotton with just a bit of spandex in it, giving the shirt a smooth and sleek look with plenty of stretch.  They’re durable, they move with you, and they feel like they were custom cut for your body.

It’s not tight, but fitted. Sleeves are cut shorter than most polos, which means they’re cut to the appropriate length.

There are cheaper options out there that are similar in cut and at first glance look… but the Express Signature with its snap-back stretch is worth the extra cost.  Especially during one of these sales.  All colors, all sizes, and even the stripes are on sale.

Use the online promo code 7283 to get the $15 off your $60 order of three.  Sale Ends Monday Night.

    Personally I like pique polos…

I don’t like the massive (or even the small) logos on the Express Pique polos. Also, I used to wear mostly pique weave polos until I found out about these. When I first got them in the mail they weren’t what I was expecting and I was slightly disappointed. But after wearing them I must say I love the smooth, stretchy feel of the Signature and can’t see myself wearing my old piques (In fact I threw out/donated a bunch of my old polos).

Recently bought two (black & white) and am very happy with the cut and feel of the fabric. My girlfriend hates when I wear polos but she couldn’t stop complimenting my black one.

Planning on buying a maroon one if they’re still available by the time I get home…

I own all colors but Brown and White and love them all. When I saw this sale I was hoping to pick up a brown and white but it seems they are either out of or no longer selling the brown 🙁

Any idea about the sizing on these? The size chart on the website seems to be a little bit bigger than normal (ie…39-41.5″ chest on the medium rather than the 38-40″ you normally see). For reference, i wear a medium in the polo custom fit polo, and it fits well (not too tight, not too loose).

I am normally a medium in almost any modern shirt, and that is the same for the signature polos. Yes, they are a closer fit than my old A.E. polos that I replaced, but that’s a good thing. They are a little tight around my upper back muscles (but not skin tight), which is good because it helps show off your physique a little due to the stretch.

I have never tried the polo custom fit polo, so can’t give a good comparison for you.

Steve, I don’t know about the custom fit but I’m built similar to the guy above in the stripped current photo. I wear 42 reg suit and the medium sig polo fits me perfect. The large was too big and no longer looked fitted. They stretch and even though I have broad shoulders (and narrow waist) they are not too tight across the chest or back. The shoulder seams fit right. I workout/lift regularly so my pecs are defined in the shirt but not overly so and the fabric contours nicely but is not stretched at all.

Probably more info than you want to know but I’m assuming you are ordering them instead of trying them on in the store.

Steve if you’re talking about the Polo Ralph Lauren ones..I tried one on not that long ago, and those things were huge. Maybe you like a more relaxed polo. If so I think you should size up. With a Large. If not give these a try in a Medium or even small since they’re pretty tight. My friend is about 6’0 180 and wears a small. He’s a fit guy too. I recommend going to the store to try them on and see what you like. Its always better.

Steve, I own the RL custom fits as well. I wear a M in those and they fit perfectly…and i have a somewhat muscular build. The Express Sig will fit the same way as the RL custom fit…

Im going to express brick and mortar and rack up today, as soon as i get out of the office…

Cheers to the long weekend all!!

Ok, thanks for the tips. I’ll try to get to a B&M store if i can, if not i’ll probably order a M.

Chris, i’m talking about the Polo Ralph Lauren CUSTOM FIT polo shirts, these are a lot shorter/slimmer/shorter sleeve than the CLASSIC FIT polos, those are huge on me. I can usually find the RL custom fit polos at Marshall’s/TJ Maxx for about 30$ in the classic colours (white/black/blue).

“My friend is about 6′0 180 and wears a small”

He must carry his weight on his lower half. I’m ~5’11”,160lbs and a small is too small unless you like the stuffed sausage look. 🙂

A small on me has the shoulder seams too narrow and the button placket is unnaturally stretched open.

  12. Bryan says

    May 28, 2010 at 2:27 PM

I agree with Rob, I was surprised by the 180lb friend wearing a small too. I’m only 5’9 145lb and a small would be super tight.

  13. Joe says

    Perhaps he’s built like a T-Rex?

  14. Chris says

    May 28, 2010 at 8:22 PM

Haha. No he isn’t built like a T-Rex. Though he kind of looks like one. Haha. That guy in the photo is no heavier than 165 at most. I’m 155 and wear XS. It fits great. I don’t think I look like a stuffed sausage. But the navy shirt is more of a large. Small difference..you can go with that.

    @ Steve
I’ve never seen those custom fit polos you’re talking about. Sounds interesting. $30 for a ralph Lauren polo. I’m gonna go look for them. Those baggy classic fit RL’s are designed more for T-pain. And they’re like $70 bucks a pop. They are probably charging for all that extra fabric. Marshalls has some diamonds in the rough at times. Thanks for the tip.
