Sterling Silver Cultured Freshwater Pearl Necklace and Earrings – $62.10 SALE

UPDATE: Commenter Chris noticed that the price went back up to the regular $140.  Good news is that on Tuesday March 30th and Wednesday March 31st, Macy’s and Macys.com will have their “one day sale.”  Price will drop to an even lower $49.00 on those two days.  Web ID is: 436296  See below for catalog proof…

Tuesday and Wednesday only.
Tuesday and Wednesday only.

Buying a woman jewelry can be a total nightmare.  That’s why when a standard “must have” for women goes on sale, it’s a worry free play to jump on it.

Pearls are classic.  And can either be a conservative accessory for work, or sexed up with a cocktail dress.  This strand is 18-inches so neither too short or too long, and should set up on her neck perfectly.  The sterling silver clasp is also a bonus, since most pearls come with a yellow gold clasp which isn’t as versatile.

The earrings are nice and small, with just enough basic detail in the upper piece to make them interesting.  Not much else goes with a strand of pearls, so to be able to give her both a necklace and matching earrings ensures she’ll be able to wear your gift right away.

Maybe I am missing something but when I go to the website they say $140, not the sale price listed…

No, you’re right. Looks like the sale ended yesterday. Good news is they drop back down to $50 for two days and two days only, this Tuesday and Wednesday. Nice catch, and thanks for letting us know.

This necklace is actually not a great buy. The clasp is difficult to open and close and its attached to the stand by string and thus prone to snapping. The clasp broke the first night after my fiance began wearing it. I brought it back to Macys for a new one and saw that the same thing could happen again, so I went with a different pearl necklace that was a little more expensive. Thanks to Dappered for cluing me in on pearls as a classic, sure fire, woman-pleaser gift … I just don’t recommend going with this particular strand.

Dang it… sorry bout that Tristan. I’ve purchased a string of pearls for my wife from Macy’s before and didn’t have that experience. But it seems like the design was different on the one I bought. Thanks for the feedback, a good warning to everyone for sure!
