Loud but not ugly*, these Buffalo Plaid Shirts from the Macy’s store brand “American Rag” can inject some forcefulness into your casual wardrobe on the cheap.

Not too many colors, the plaid is perfectly big, and the sleeves have those tab and button dohickeys that keep em’ rolled up.  Which they inevitably will become.

The pockets are western style, but without the urban cowboy pearl buttons.  Just the round metal exteriors. It leans just as much Rock and Roll as Country and Western. Maybe more so. Simple and clean, but checked all over, it’s one of those shirts that could be your favorite weekend/watching the game/BBQing shirt in your closet.

And at under $20, you could even splurge and take it to your tailor to have it custom fit.
