Alfani Red is one of those store brands that 95% of the time gets it right. That’s why their new cotton blazer is something to look for in stores. But there’s a catch. Where they’ve gotten it wrong in the past, is in the blazer department.
The previous two button Blazer by the Macy’s house label was wool, the shoulders were too big, and the arm holes were cut too high. Even though the brushed gray buttons were a nice touch… it still felt too much like something your Dad would wear.
Now here’s why it looks like there’s hope for their new blazer. It’s partially cotton, so it should have more of a natural shoulder. It comes in small, medium, large, and XL, which usually means the arm holes will be cut higher. Also, the model is wearing it with a pair of jeans, which you could not have done with the more formal blazer.
It’s much easier to dress up a good cotton blazer, and almost impossible to dress down a wool one.
It seems to be polished and smooth enough to be worn to work. Here’s to hoping that it lives up to its potential.
