It’s that time of year when finally, FINALLY summer is starting to go away and live football, hot coffee, and heavier beers are starting to feel like less of a chore and more of a perfect way to end the day.
That means a heavier coat. And in GQ’s latest issue they go over their picks for the best fall and winter coats for under $500. The two page spread is disappointingly NOT available through GQ.com But… A couple of blogs out there have scanned in the pages in case you don’t have a subscription.

Here are my personal favorites of GQ’s picks:
Can’t beat the price, can’t beat the cut. But as far as finding it online… I’m not sure if it’s this one, or this one in a different color. I’m pretty sure it’s the latter because of the peak lapel and the price match. Not a fan of the camel color on the web, but… worth a look in the stores and a trip to your tailor to bring in the sides.
Out of my price range, but it’s probably made of a better quality fabric?
The coat pictures is a bit more busy than the Express Double Breasted Peacoat from years past. And Dappered has already fully endorsed last years model as the one to go with. It’s still available online, it’s a bit shorter so you don’t look like you’re being swallowed by your outerwear, and it’s a bit beefier up top without looking linebacker-ish.
