Yes the cooler weather is a long way off. But if you’ve got an open collar type of winter coat (i.e. peacoat or car coat) and you live in an area where it gets windy… you know how annoying that gust of freezing wind right at your throat can be.
So to avoid frozen vocal cords: get a scarf. I’m usually not one for the fancy-schmancy fabrics like cashmere. Seems like that fabric should only be used for women’s sweaters. BUT… csahmere is hard to find this cheap. And it also looks good. And since it’s cashmere, not only will she love you for offering it to her on a cold night, she’ll love the way it feels against her skin.
Deal with the freezing throat. Offer her your scarf. You’ll win in the end.
And on a sidenote – A scarf is a piece of functional clothing. So if it’s not cold enough for a scarf, don’t wear a scarf. Wear it as a pure accessory and risk looking like a dandy.
