I was raised in an outdoors-loving family and I live in an outdoors-loving state. Even if you’re not the Eagle Scout type, and barring you’re not a total couch potato… you can find some incredible deals through Sierra Trading Post.
Their by mail catalog is great, their outlet store locations are stocked, and their web site is superb. I used to drop $100 at my local running store (which I still love) on my go-to running shoes until I realized that I could get the previous model for $65.00 through Sierra Trading Post. Unless you’re training for the Olympics, I don’t see how running shoes can really change that much from year to year. There are examples like that all over their store.
Clothing, boots, tents, fishing poles, bikes, whatever… they’ve got it. At massively marked down prices. And for some odd reason they also carry pretty high end items as well. (not a bad example here) Will some of it be a little off the wall? Sure. Even downright ugly? Of course. But who cares if your trail running shoes are bright yellow and black when they only cost you $30.00.
