The Best Labor Day Sales for Men – J. Crew 40% off, Nordstrom End of Season Clearance, & More

This post will be updated over the next few days as more sales roll in. It’s a working weekend for us, as we’ll be tracking all the salez salez salez. Have a safe and fun Labor Day Weekend.

J. Crew: 40% off Select

Ends Tuesday PM

Been a bit since J. Crew ran a truly significant sale. And there are so many exclusions in this one (almost all suiting, shoes, etc.) that even this long weekend Labor Day event may not fit that particular category. What’s going on with J. Crew lately? Hit too hard by the tariffs/inflation squeeze? They’re not the only one. But it is noticeable that something (who knows what) has changed over at J. Crew.

J. Crew Part II: 40% off select stretch chinos

Almost always excluded, and somehow included in the 40% off Labor Day event. Select colors only though, and it’s mostly the 484 slims.

Bonobos: 30% off most w/ FIRSTCALL30

Ends Wednesday PM

You might have know about this sale already (we did a full picks post here)… but just in case you didn’t and you’re dropping in on us direct via the socials. Bottom line: it’s probably one of the stronger sales of the weekend. 30% off is where Bonobos peaks. Even on Black Friday the last few years.

Ledbury: 30% off $150+

Combo Pick:

= $203 total (normally $290)

Ends Tuesday AM

Pricey, but they’re excellent. These are from their made-to-order line. Much more precise measurement in terms of fit when compared to other neck/sleeve shirts, and you get to pick the collar style too. Mid spread dress or hidden button down looks terrific without a tie if that’s your thing. And the slightly lowered 2nd button is perfect. No more “one button or two?” debate. Also know that these take a few weeks in terms of delivery, as they make them once you input your options.

Banana Republic Factory: 50% – 70% off + addit. 25% off

Ends Tuesday PM

Full picks here. BR’s more affordable brother is a serious style source for some of us. They do an oddly good job replicating most of what mainline Banana Republic offers, at much more palatable prices.

UNIQLO: Labor Day Weekend Specials

Ends Thursday PM

Attn: UNIQLO fans. Some of their best selling wheelhouse foundational items are on sale. Blue, white, and grey available for the oxford cloth button downs. Lots of colors available for the 100% supima cotton tees. Sale runs through next Thursday, 9/10.

Spier & Mackay: Up to 20% off select Labor day Sale

Spier’s new site is now live, and there’s been some changes. One of which (for now) it appears that you can’t really tell the level of discount of an item in a sale until it hits your cart. Gotta think their tech team is working on that. It’s an “up to” sale, so an item could be 10% off… could be 20% off… could be some other level of discount. Bit of a mystery, this one.

Sunski: 35% off

Ends Tuesday AM

35% off is pretty deep for Sunski. They make good shades in some unique (but not goofy) styles, and as a brand they’re not perpetually on sale.

Brooks Brothers: 20% off $200, 30% off $500 / Extra 25% off Sale Items

Ends Tuesday PM

Different deals. Tiers are for the full-priced stuff, with the extra 25% happening on their already-on-sale goods.

GAP: 40% – 60% off + addit. 10% off w/ DAYOFF

Ends Tuesday PM

Overspending on classics/foundational pieces isn’t necessary. Not when GAP is still around doing what they do so well. Don’t forget to use the code DAYOFF at checkout for a sneaky extra 10% off.

Nordstrom: End of Season Clearance (clothes picks)

And now mainline Nordstrom, where just about everything ships and returns for free. This is a true clearance, so common sizes and colors are a bit scarce depending on the item. But picks above had at least a decent size selection left at post time.

Nordstrom End of Season Clearance (shoes and accessories picks)

And some (very quick) shoes and accessories picks. Always nice when shoes and sunglasses ship and return for free, as a tailor can’t do anything to tweak the fit for those things.

VAER: R1 Oceanracer V2 Restock – $549 – $669*

Not on sale (VAER very rarely does any sort of discounting) but worth a mention because they quietly got restocked. Price varies depending on which second strap/bracelet you opt into. Full review can be found here.

WP Standard: 20% off sitewide

Really nice leathers and craftsmanship. No code needed. Full review of the Woodward briefcase can be found here.

REI: 25% off select Darn Tough Socks

Part of REI’s big Labor Day Sale, this 25% off select Darn Tough socks deal is better than normal. Why? Because Darn Tough doesn’t run sales (the closest they’ll do is free shipping no minimum on occasion), and REI’s got some good ones in stock and on sale. Knit in Vermont using merino wool blends.

Amazon: Gift Card Deals

Amazon has brought back their sneaky good gift card deals section for another long weekend sales push. Note that GAP inc. gift cards (Old Navy, BR, etc.) can be used across their brands. Like at BR Factory.

Amazon Part II: Totally random Labor Day Weekend Deals

Watches! Underwear! Vacuums! … Vacuums? Yes, it’s random. This is what Amazon does. This is who they are.

Orient: 10% off w/ LBD2026

Pretty standard discount from Orient, as there always seems to be a 10% off floating around out there, but they did do some recent restocks. Not getting restocked (allegedly?) is the 75th Anniversary Bambino shown above. Big fan. Full review here.

TheTieBar: Up to 40% off Select FINAL SALE Polos

A sign that summer is truly winding down. All final sale though. No returns or exchanges.

Zappos: Extra 20% off select w/ BONUS20

Zappos. The originator of fast and free shipping/free returns. Still kicking after all these years, and now selling much more than just kicks. You will need to put in the BONUS20 code at checkout.

Filson: $50 off $300, $100 off $500, $175 off $750, $250 off $1000

If you’re close to the next threshold (the $499 Rugged Twill Original Briefs are a perfect example), try throwing a cheaper outlet item in there to trip the next threshold. Works with the two bags shown above, and you end up saving more in the end.

adidas: 30% off select w/ EXTRA

Should be able to stack one of those on-sale Amazon gift cards, assuming it gets to you in time and they still have your item left. Always a risk trying to time it like that though.

Billy Reid: Additional 25% off Sale & FINAL Sale w/ EXTRA25

Quite a bit of final sale in this one. It’s a mix, but (say it with me) anything tagged as final can’t be returned or exchanged.

Nordstrom RACK: Extra 25% off select Final Sale Clearance

We’ll get to mainline Nordy in a second, but know that this is their off-price chain which takes unsold inventory from all over, and marks that stuff down further to try and move it along. A “clear the racks” event like this one is where they take their clearance (so still unsold stuff which has been with them for a bit), knocks an extra 25% off and tags it as final sale. But final means final. No returns or exchanges.

Also worth a mention:

NOTE: This post will be updated through the long weekend.
