Quick Picks: B.R. No Exclusions 30% off $150+, 40% off $200+

BRYOU = 30% off $150, 40% off $200

What is this, high-threshold sale week? First J. Crew, and now Banana Republic. But there’s good news for this BR sale. It doesn’t appear that anything is excluded. The bad news is at minimum, you’ll be spending $105 out of pocket ($150 x .70 = 105). So, like that J. Crew sale from earlier this week, if you’re a little thin in the wallet lately, it’s gonna be just window shopping.

“Modern Slim” Fit Grey Chambray Blazer – $138.60 ($198)

Welp, looks like the more middle-of-the-road, “Tailored Fit” cut by BR is officially dead. All of their jackets are this new “Modern Slim” fit. And it does feel slimmer than the ol’ Tailored Fit. Good if you’re on the lean and mean side. Not good if you’ve got some beef to your man-cake. Watch out for those sleeve buttons too. They’re almost certainly functional. 97% cotton / 3% spandex shell, and it looks like it’s fully lined (most likely in polyester).

Double Breasted Trench in Khaki or Navy – $150 ($250)

Perfect for those May-Flowers inducing April-Showers. BR puts out a classic trench every spring, and this year is no different. What is different is that they’re offering it in navy this year. Nice. It looks from the online photos that it might… might be a tad shorter this year? Maybe? Who knows. Mid thigh to above the knee is ideal. Their shots on the website make it look a little more cropped. At least it does hit that second, 40% off $250 threshold on the nose.

Modern-Slim Soft-Wash Blazer – $122.75 ($175)

They call it a “shirt” blazer, but it’s not going to be mistaken for a shirt by anyone. No shoulder padding, very little structure, but still lined. Thankfully the body is lined in cotton instead of polyester, and it drapes and moves super easy. Shown above is a 40R on 5’10” / 190, and it’s too trim to be comfortable for me, but, it should work for many. Body is a very small wale, super soft corduroy fabric. Be warned that those sleeve buttons are functioning.

Waxed Suede “Ben” Lace-Up ($148) + Socks ($12.50) = $112.35 ($160.50)

A warning: These shoes will almost certainly go on sale for less later on. That’s the problem with this sale. It’s got a high, $150 threshold, and these shoes come in just under the wire. Sit tight and you should be able to get them for around $90 the next time they’re not tagged as a “BR Pick” and they run a 40% off code. Nice shoes overall though. Versatile grey shade. No real nap to the suede since it’s “waxed”, but they aren’t obnoxiously burnished or anything. Mattte but not fuzzy looking.

Italian Leather Briefcase – $138.60 ($198)

Huh. Well that has some enormous potential. Leather body, simple design… could make for a terrific entry level yet still polished looking briefcase. Shown above in the “cafe” brown. Also available in black.

All Four Colors of the Piped Luxe Touch Polos – $138.60 ($198)

Because polo weather will eventually roll around. Promise. (Again, this is another one of those items that you’re probably best waiting on. 40% off codes happen often, and basics like their polos aren’t usually excluded.)

“David” Chukka Boot – $117.60 ($168)

Kinda on the fence about these. That white strip at the sole makes them look like a more subtle version of the Cole Haan Lunar Grand? They seem to walk that line between more modern street-styling and a classic shoe shape. Might look cool in person. Might look awkward. And that white strip is almost certainly gonna get dirty pretty quick.

Two… Two… TWO PAIRS OF BR Traveler Jeans!!! = $165.20 ($236)

Eat your hearts out, Coors Light Twins (sidenote: what a truly, awful, steaming pile of dogsh*t commercial that was). Still no straight fit in this incredibly stretchy fabric, but the slim fits should work for most. Multiple shades available too. Shown above is the dark blue “rinse.” Close enough to that next threshold that picking up some socks or a t-shirt to tip the balance is almost certainly going to be worth it. Here’s the full review for the jeans.

This Banana Republic tiered code BRYOU is set to expire tomorrow, 2/17/16.
