What’s Dappered Threads? It’s our forum. Launched in 2011, Threads has become a not too big, not too small, just-right-sized forum that doesn’t put up with snobbery. All thanks to the users and hardworking mods. Once a month, one of the mods from Threads provides us with a highlight package of the last few weeks.
This week’s challenge tasked Threads participants with keeping warm in style. Entries ranged from rugged outdoors to layers with style, but zcm won the challenge with his look that fell in the dressed-up casual arena, showing that a tie and cords can go hand in hand.
just buzz it. you’ll be nervous and hate it at first. you’ll assume people are paying more attention to it then they are. some may even ask you about it at first. be confident. i’ve been doing it for 10 years and it’s more accepted now then ever before. when asked, i’m up front about it or i use a little humor.. why do you shave your head? “eh, i hit my mid 20’s and there was hair where i didn’t want hair and less hair where i wanted it.” people like confidence, and you’ll like yourself for it. – TDurden
From drugs to transplants to just buzzing it all off… there are many options. Most in this thread lean towards the buzz-cut/clippers option, and many thanks to those like user TDurden who were honest and helpful about how they went from full head of hair to… not.
Threads user mattface has recently been perusing Ebay for stylish items for his upcoming nuptuals (congrats Matt!), and recently won a a pair of shell cordovan Allen Edmonds MacNeil Longwings. Shortly after, while looking for a matching belt, he stumbled across the vintage belt buckle pictured above. His plan: buy a 1″ belt blank and get it dyed to match the shoes. Nicely done.
After contributors Sarah & Amber posted on Dappered about their experiences tackling the Whole30 challenge, quite a few Threads members decided to step up to the plate and take on the challenge themselves, or at least take a good look at their diet and see what healthy changes they could make. As it’s been stated before here on Dappered, being fit is far better than just a good fit. Good luck to all upping their fitness game this year!
Every year a group of threads users accepts a no-spend challenge for an extended period of time. 90 days, 25 members… and when one of the members breaks his style-spending-fast, he has to own up to it and list not only the date he bowed out of the challenge, but what he purchased.
