Unless you spend a lot of time in front of the grill, this box is really about the apron. And if you don’t spend a lot of time in front of the grill… how often are you using an apron anyway? Well maybe quite a bit. But you’d have to have a shop or something. Perhaps you throw one on for shoe shine day, to protect your clothes from the polish and wax used to bring out the luster on your finest S. Maddens.*

This is one of those boxes that will be seen as a good value to some, but most are probably going to take a pass. And that’s the really nice thing about Bespoke Post… they make it easy for you to say “thanks but no thanks” and opt out of your box before you get charged.

You’ll also get four cedar “wraps”. Not planks, but instead super-flexible, slim pieces of cedar you can wrap around and tie up whatever grillable you’re ready to cook. Seems like these would be perfect for encircling thicker, beefy kebabs.

The apron is something else.  It’s straight-forward, but it’s well designed, feels great on, and the leather for the neck strap is soft & sturdy. Perfectly placed & stitched pockets can hold tools of all kind, as well as your phone (for late arriving guests calling to see if they can bring any last-minute needs) in easy reach. This is the kind of apron B.A. Baracus would wear while constructing whatever machine of defense & redemption was required by the situation at hand.

Is it a box that everyone on Bespoke Post’s membership list jumped at? Probably not. But for those who value the time spent in their shop, at the grill, or both, (Father’s Day is on the way) it’s a unique setup that’ll most likely be used by whoever ends up with it.
