DSW Tiered Sale – February 2013

SHOPITUP: $10 off $69, $25 off $139, $40 off $199 at DSW.com

Plus, use code SHIPR for free shipping.  SHOPITUP Code expires Thrusday 2/21.

Ready to get code happy?  DSW allows you to use multiple codes and even stack rewards certificates if you’ve got em’.  Thing is, you have to sign up to become a DSW Rewards Member.  It’s just their email list, and while it seems like emails from them have ticked up in frequency lately, they’re no where near GAP inc’s brands.  But once you sign up, you’re in, and you can use the SHOPITUP code as well as the free shipping SHIPR.  Makes a big difference, especially on their house brands.

Unfortunatley, they’re pretty low in stock on most of the simple Mercanti Fiorentini and Mike Konos shoes (two DSW house brands made in Italy).  But they’ve had an influx of luxury brands in the past few weeks, including Gucci and some non-polo Ralph Lauren.  For example…

Ralph Lauren Collection Dunlay Monk – $259.95 ($550)
Made in Italy

Not from the Polo line (but does “Collection” = Black Label?).  Down to the mid $200s for what appears to be a smooth, simple, made in Italy (and hopefully well made at that) monk strap.  Barely noticeable roller on the buckle.

Mercanti Cap Toe Lace-up – $124.95 ($149.95)
Also made in Italy.

Not a true oxford, but instead an open lacing blucher, these are plenty dressed up for the guy on a budget who wants something sleek, decent quality, but won’t be beating the snot out of his shoes so a stitched welt isn’t a priority.  Made in Italy for the DSW house brand Mercanti Fiorentini.  Just back in stock, and also available in black.

Ralph Lauren Collection Bax Suede Boat Shoe – $124.94 ($295)
Made in the USA

Probably the steal of the sale for the boat shoe crowd.  Almost white sole with a terrific looking lighter brown suede upper.  Made in the USA, and if memory serves, marked way down compared to what they (or a highly similar pair) were going for on the RL website a month or so ago.

Sebago Hamden Loafer – $79.95
Black uppers and a red sole.

Meanwhile, in the not so traditional boat shoe world…

Florsheim by Duckie Brown Saddle – $134.94 ($325)
The not too wussy saddle.

Much, much cheaper than what you can find these for on LastCall (even when they’re running an extra 30% off code). Olive suede and cognac leather.  Try em’ with jeans and a navy or light khaki sportcoat.  Sizes are getting limited.

Frye Dakota in Marbled Brown – $154.95 ($198)
Not exactly some wilting flower.

Hat tip to Josh C. for sending in the style tip here.

Frye Dakota in Burnished Cognac or Burnished Wheat – $134.95 ($198)
The Wheat shade almost looks bruised.

Meanwhile, if you’re good with burnishing and want to skip that marbled leather, these are twenty bucks less. Burnishing looks pretty aggressive on the lighter, wheat color.

Coulda used more sizes monk duo: Mezlan Suede – $239.95 | Mercanti – $124.95
People say they monk-y around.

But what sizes are left at least hit some of the average foot sizes (10.5 and 11 at post time).  The pair from Mezlan are made in Spain, while the Mercantis are once again made in Italy.

Aston Grey Harper Chukka – $89.95 ($99.95)
Simple and inexpensive. A sometimes hard to find combo.

Rubber sole with some grip, promising toe shape, reasonable price.  Suit worthy for certain occasions.

Gucci Chelsea Boots – $259.94 ($595)
Word is, size down?

Gucci, understandably, doesn’t get a lot of play here on Dappered.  Up there in price, but good grief that’s a hell of a good looking Chelsea boot.  Perfect toe shape.  Smooth as hell.

The DSW.com tiered code SHOPITUP expires on Thurs. 2/21/13.  Don’t forget to use SHIPR for free shipping.
