The Rare Deal: double digit, resoleable, Italian boots

J. Crew MacAlister Suede Boots in “Snuff” – $82.80 w/ GET40 ($148)

Part of the extra 40% off Final Sale items uber-clearance that J. Crew has going on right now.  These aren’t labeled as final sale, so you should be able to return them, but the code seems to work all the same.  Code GET40 expires Tuesday, 1/29/13.

Made in Italy, according to customer service you can put new soles on them, and they’re around eighty bucks before shipping.  That’s a nice trifecta you don’t see very often.  This is the only color available, but with the explosion of popularity in cognac colored shoes, these aren’t too far off center on the shade radar.  They’ll obviously pair real well with jeans and other blues.  All sizes are available at post time too.

If you want something similar but in a more subdued color, there’s more than a few sizes available in their apron toe, “upcountry” version for $59.99 w/ the GET40 code.  Also made in Italy and same stitched out welt construction.  Those are final sale though.  Otherwise, there’s the ol’ standby Clarks Desert.  Starting in the low $70s on Amazon depending on what color/size combination you choose.
