Would you wear it? J. Crew’s Patchwork Plaid Sportcoat

J. Crew Patchwork Plaid Ludlow Fit Sportcoat – $249.99 ($298)

First of all, no surprise this has hit the sale section with all sizes left.  And if Vegas were to put odds on this thing, I’m guessing there will still be mediums and or larges left by the time it dips to the low $140s, with an extra 30% off code looming to knock it under $100.

It’s just a darker version of the common patchwork madras blazers that we’ve all seen.  And if you’re a sport coat / blazer addict who’s looking for something seriously dressed down, it ain’t gonna get much more dressed down than this.  Might be one of the few sportcoats out there that would actually look best with a t-shirt underneath.  Forget pairing it with a well pressed dress shirt.  This thing can only be worn with tees, polos, and unironed poplin, chambray, or oxford cloth.

All right, time for this Devil’s Advocate to shut up.  And again, you have to think the price is going to continue to fall.  A lot.  So would you wear it?  Or is it just too much of an oddball?  Leave your take below…
