Women’s Style Win: The Doubled Up Long Strand Necklace

July 24, 2012 By Joe | Heads up: Buying via our links may result in us getting a commission. Here's why.

.
Sometimes it’s good to openly appreciate what the fairer sex is doing with their style.  Let’s them know when something is really working.  If you’d like to suggest a Women’s Style Win, just send an email in here.  Top Photo Credit: Vintage Faux Pearl Flapper Necklace – $15.00 via the 86Vintage86 Etsy Shop.  That one has already sold, but Etsy in general is a good place to find this kind of stuff…

Not sure what the ladies call it, but goodness does it work.  She takes a longer strand type of necklace, wraps it close to the neck once, maybe twice, and lets the longer end drape.  It’s as elegant as it is sexy.  Reminiscent of the 1920s flapper look, only instead of super styled short hair and tons of makeup, women seem to be wearing strands like these real easy.  T-shirt dresses, breezy pants, at work or out at night.  Doesn’t have to be some ultra traditional looking opera length pearl set either:

Club Monaco – $69.50, Nordstrom – $88,  White House | Black Market – $24.49,

So yeah.  It works.  A lot.  Thanks for that ladies.

Thoughts?  This something you like seeing?  Leave it all in the comments.  To suggest another fairer sex style worth tipping our hats to, send an email in with the subject “Women’s Style Win.”  And keep it classy ya animals.

I’m not sure I’ve ever made note of this before, but I’m on board with this. It’s a good look

I don’t think women would look nearly as good with crickets around their necks.

Joe, sometimes it feels like you comb through the recesses of my mind and publish it as a blog post.

I’m a big fan. Combine this with a great fitting sweater dress and slender knee high boot? Mercy.

Joe, these Women’s Style Win posts are a great idea–I’m not sure how many guys here would admit it, but if you’ve got a good eye for style and color in men’s clothes, you probably help choose things for your lady. So these kind of suggestions are great to earn brownie points with the Mrs…

FYI, Ross Simons has a 8/8.5 mm 80in length of cultured pearls for 100$. Actually picked one up for the wife recently. Something she was very happy with (turns out I get it right sometimes)

Picking out jewelry for a lady is always dicey (please talk to my best friends before going at it alone), but if you insist… I recently got these and love them:

They’re a lot like Kate Middleton’s often-worn citrine drop earrings:

I don’t know, I think by paying attention to what a girl usually wears you can get a solid sense of her style. I’ve had a pretty good hit rate on jewelry and I always pick it out myself.

I guess I’m the only one thinking I don’t come here for posts like this. Great site, and I’m sure you’re hard pressed for ideas sometimes… but I’d vote no thanks to women’s style posts.

Thanks for the kind words about the site. I think you might be running the risk of over-thinking this. It is just one post after all. Flattered though that you look to Dappered enough that you feel the need to speak out when one post on one day is a bit different.
