Quick Picks: The $25 for $50 Bluefly Deal

Google Offers:  Spend $25 to get $50 at Bluefly

Hat tip to Chris for sending in the Style Tip

UPDATE:  Looks like Bluefly jacked some prices up on items overnight.  For example, the OP t-shirts are now $18 and a solid no thanks at that price.  Apologies for that one guys.  It happens…  $25 for $50 deal is still going on though.

Remember when Groupon refused to sell to Google?  Right.  So, Google went and did their own thing.  It’s called “Google Offers,” and they’re offering a $25 for $50 deal to the designer web outlet BlueFly.  Here’s the details:

  • Must spend $50 to use the deal.
  • Limit 1 per household
  • They say it can’t be used in conjunction with other deals/codes/etc…

Prices in red show the total cost after the $25 gift certificate is applied, and before shipping kicks in.  There’s a lot of stuff on Bluefly’s site, so much so that it can get a little numbing just digging around.  Picks had a wide variety of sizes available at post time.
.

OP Heather Polo – $39.00 + Abboud Pocket Squares – $15.00 = $29
Couple of summer staples.

The Penguin polo (currently) has all sizes left and looks like it comes in their extra soft jersey cotton.  The Abboud pocket square trio has a blue and white gingham in there, which comes in extra handy at this time of year.  Orange and blue check would be a nice offset to a navy cotton blazer and dark wash jeans.

OP thermal – $22.79 + Calvin Klein Reversible Belt – $28.00 = $25.79
All sizes available at post time on both.

Lots of Original Penguin stuff here, but that’s what happens when you’re on the low end of the designer price spectrum.  Thermals are great for weekends at home when even a sweater seems like too much.  The belt should be pretty versatile, with a slim and subtle buckle.

Will Leather Goods Drawstring Tote – $58.00 = $33
Made in Portland.

Some guys will see a tote with less structure as a more manly bag.  Others will think it looks like a woman’s hobo purse (ladies?  That a hobo-like bag here?).  Whatever, you put stuff in it, you’ll get it from point A to B, and it’s made in Eugene, Oregon.  Was pushing $100.

Theory Tie – $32.99 + Purple and Grey Penguin T-shirts $10.79 per = $29.57
Not gonna look right together.

Hard to argue with the made in the USA tie (unless 2.5″ is too slim for you) and while the tees are in fact graphic tees, the penguin gets a pass.  Especially when it’s these colors, easy to layer, and the graphic shouldn’t show too much if you’ve got something on top.

Question:  When was the last time you purchased any type of deal?  Groupon, Living Social, etc…  Leave it all below.  Meanwhile, the Google $25 for $50 offer at BlueFly is on sale through Thursday and must be used by 9/12/12.
