Would you wear it? The Citizen Blackout Watch

Citizen Eco-Drive BM8475-00F All Black – $131.25

Look familiar?  That right there is the slightly larger than you’d think it’ll be, 42mm in diameter, Citizen Eco Drive with the flight dial inspired hands BM8475-00X.  Only completely blacked out:

The dial color on the original version is actually green.  The dial on this new all black version looks to be a different shade than the canvas band, but both are still listed at black.  So the dial, hands, and case are black.  But the band must be very black.  Blacker than black.  How much more black could it be?  None more black (sorry… obligatory.)

Blackout, or blacked-out style watches started gaining momentum last year, and while Citizen is a little late to the party, it was a genius play to take an already well received watch and adapt it to meet the style.  Sure the Timex option is half the price, but the Eco-Drive movement is awfully nice to have on hand/wrist.

Would you wear it?  Or do you prefer the, y’know… much easier to read traditional version?  Leave your vote below.  And if you do decided to go the all black route, don’t expect to ever get your watch autographed.
