How to Spend it: The Lands’ End Canvas Living Social Deal

Living Social:  $30 for $60 at Lands’ End Canvas

The details: Limit one per person w/one additional as a gift.  Available for purchase until the early AM hours on Thursday 8/11  Must be used by 10/5.  Only good online and only available on the Austin and Boston pages… for now?  L.E.C. Free Shipping no minimum with code UNTUCKED and Pin 1145 (expires 8/27)  No word on whether this can be used along with the Living Social Deal.  We’ll find out on Thursday…

Eureka.  Credit to Andre and Corey who sent in style tips about the Living Social deal that’s up in Boston and Austin today.  Prices are up over at L.E.C., but the spend $30 get $60 worth of credit deal helps out plenty.

You don’t have to live in Boston or Austin to buy it (just look in “other cities” when you log in to Living Social) and if you pick around in their sale section, you can put together an entire upgraded casual outfit for $60.  Which of course becomes a ridiculous $30 with the voucher.  The proof:
.

Heritage Straight Fit Jean – $14.99 ($49.50)
Rinsed Indigo has plenty of sizes left
Better for the guys that have bigger legs or don’t want as quite as tight of a fit.  Straight through the leg, great color, full review over here.  Their slim fit is also on sale for $14.99, but sizes are getting tight.

Heritage Solid Oxford in Gull Grey  – $19.99 (reg. $49.50)
Button down collar is a big plus.

L.E.C.’s oxford shirts have a prefect mid-weight to them.  A solid grey oxford cloth like this almost looks like a grey chambray.  It gives the same texture/color impression, and don’t be afraid to wear this under cotton blazers once the weather gets cooler.  (Note:  Click on the color and then your size to see the reduced price)

Slub Jersey Crewneck – $14.99 ($29.50)
Light in color and weight. Goes on top.

Halfway between sweatshirt and sweater, these slub jersey crews aren’t spongy and thick like your collegiate hoodie, but they’re all cotton and look more relaxed than a sweater.  Don’t be afraid to layer with something like this.  It’s a real easy way to dress up a dressed down look.  Our instincts tell us to layer the dark stuff on top with the light underneath, but reverse that here.  The grey oxford will look great under the off white crew and against the jeans.

Striped Socks – $6.99 ($14.50)
A little, but not a lot, of pop.

Because they’re cheap, you can, and with all this solid stuff going on above the ankle, you’ll need a little bit of interest and pattern going on somewhere.  Sizes are limited, but, they’re socks.  Should be able to make these work.

Total Full Retail Cost: $143.00
Total Cost Before Living Social Deal: $56.96
Total Cost After Living Social Deal:  $26.96 (or the $30 you spent on the gift certificate)

Throw on a field watch and some casual laceups, wingtip boots, or sneakers… and you’re set.

The Living Social Deal looks to be available to purchase until the early morning hours of tomorrow (Thursday 8/11) depending on what city you buy through.  The free shipping code UNTUCKED and pin 1145 exp. 8/27  Might not work if they make you put your living social voucher in the “promo code” and pin area.
