5 Favorites – Barron Cuadro of The Effortless Gent

5 Favorites from Barron Cuadro of The Effortless Gent

Sure it’s just stuff.  But stuff can make life easier, more enjoyable, etc…  Every so often we ask one of our favorite people to rattle off their five favorite things.  This is the stuff they’d grab if the house was burning down.

This time Barron Cuadro, “head dude” at The Effortless Gent offers up his favorite five. For more on Barron, follow him on twitter, like The EG on Facebook, and of course, jump over to his website,  EffortlessGent.com

#1  11″ Apple MacBook Air

“I bring it with me EVERYWHERE.  It’s 3 lbs. I work everywhere I go, so if I’m on the train, in between meetings, at the coffee shop, I can whip it out and work on a blog post, or my freelance work.
.

#2  7-year-old Green J. Crew Leather Wallet

“I bought it in 2004, and wanted a really slim wallet.  It used to be a brighter kelly green, but as the years passed the leather took on the color of my dark denim, and is now this rich black green.  It’s old but it’s also the longest I’ve ever hung onto a wallet, and I really love it.

.

#3  Harris burnished brogue boots

“Harris is a brand I just recently discovered (warning: flash site), but I love their style and craftsmanship.  They take classic styles like wingtips, and sex it up with mismatched leather color, burnished finishes, etc.  They’re quite pricey, however, which is expected from a high-end Italian-made brand.  My Girlfriend Katie got me these boots as a Christmas present and they’re by far my favorite pair in the closet.”
.

#4  Cannon Rebel T2i

“Most of the photos on The Effortless Gent were taken by the T2i.  I love taking photos and at one point thought I wanted to pursue it on a professional level, but realized I enjoyed it more as a hobby.   Sometimes you have to step back and be honest with yourself as to what’s worth pursuing professionally vs. just keeping a hobby.”
.

#5  J. Crew Peacoat in Navy w/ Thinsulate

“I feel like I can’t pull off black personally, like it’s not me.  I need color, and I like the navy.  I wear it with outfits where most people would expect a black coat.  Navy and brown are my default base colors, whereas lots of guys use black as their base.  Also this coat has Thinsulate, making it crazy warm.
