The Rugby seems to come and go as a piece of trendy casual wear. What’s not trendy, is a good fit. And if you’d like to upgrade from that old tattered hooded sweatshirt you wear to the grocery store on the weekend, this is a great alternative.
The fit is shockingly slim for a Rugby. Meaning… it fits. Some of you with wider forearms might even find the sleeves to be a little too tight fresh out of the dryer. The diamond patterned quilted stitch which extends from just above the polo pony logo, to over the shoulders and down the back yoke is a great detail. It gives your torso from the sternum up the definition it deserves. It’s straight through the body, but nice and close at the sides. At 165-170 lbs, I found a medium fit me perfectly.
Hopefully Ralph Lauren takes notice and branches the “custom fit” to more of their stuff. It’s a great fit, and something I’ll personally be keeping my eye out for more of in the future.
