The Perfectly Shaped Modern Laceup

Ben Sherman Ligy Tie Brown Laceup – $117.95

From the top and bottom.

So you’re the kind of guy that likes the sharp, slim and modern look, but you don’t want to go so over the top with that strategy because your footwear will look dated in 6 months.  What you want is a plain, sleek, and pointed, but not pointy toe laceup like this one.

The Ben Sherman Ligy Tie Laceup is neither nightclub ready or boardroom clunky.  The shoe looks to be slightly elongated but nothing elf-like.  For the toe you don’t want to hurt anyone.  So avoid those foot spears a lot of guys are wearing.  They’re just an overreaction to the squared off toe shoes that were popular a few years back.  You want a toe that’s a bit more rounded once it gets to the tip.  And these do that perfectly.

Plain as can be in the upper but it’s the shape that does the talking.  Cool contrast sole with the British Isles on the bottom.  $120 is expensive, but, you’re not compromising on anything.

Need a cheaper option?  The ASOS Clean Point Derby is half the price, but the toe is starting to get a little bit on the pointy side. Just don’t put anyone’s eye out with them. (See Below)
