Defending the Old Navy Blazer on The Choosy Beggar

The Choosy Beggar knows how to shop.  The Choosy Beggar also knows style.

The Choosy Beggar… is pretty choosy.

Which is precisely why when asked by The Choosy Beggar to defend a personal favorite, The under $50 Old Navy Twill Blazer, I jumped at the opportunity.

Based in New York City, The Choosy Beggar is a terrific resource for guys everywhere, but especially living in that part of the country.  This guy (or these guys as the case may be) are all over sample sales, clearance blowouts, and all manners of marked down fashion.  They include addresses plus times and dates of these shopping events in NYC.  If you’re a fan of Giltman or similar shopping sites, they have a pre-sale shakedown of what brands will be available.  Their site is peppered with some seriously big fashion names, but they don’t ignore the more accessible brands like J. Crew or Land’s End Canvas either.

But Old Navy?  Is that dipping too low?  Check out how The Choosy Beggar opens the trial of the $49 Twill Blazer:

“Frankly, when we think of Old Navy, we think of brands the world would be better without. For research purposes, we do visit the store, but only to find the highly-disposable, mostly-unwearable dregs of a huge clothing conglomerate. Still, we love to be proven wrong…”
