Steal the Style – Toulour in Ocean’s 12

Steal the Style – Toulour in Ocean’s 12

One of the most popular scenes in all of the Ocean’s movies is in Ocean’s 12 when Fran§ois Toulour found Danny Ocean and Tess waiting for him on his veranda.  (Click here to Watch it if you haven’t seen it)  He proceeded to explain how he evaded the laser fields inside the museum, and the audience loved it.

I was less impressed with the dancing, and more impressed with his entrance.  Sure he’s the villan, but it’s tough not love the bright white suit, shirt, and blue and white striped tie.  Especially when the guy pulls up in that roadster.  I have no idea what kind of car it is (anyone?) but it’s something.

Here’s how to steal the character’s style without maxing out a credit card.

I.N.C. White Cotton/Linen Suit – $150.00 for Jacket and Pants

A white suit that doesn't look like Col. Sanders

It takes a good amount of Chutzpah to wear a bright white suit.  But in the summer, when it’s hot, it’ll keep you cool.  Andn it’ll look even cooler after the sun goes down.  The Macy’s house label I.N.C. International Concepts is geared toward the younger more athletic man.  Sometimes their detailing gets a little obnoxious, but but this suit is just plain bright white.  Jacket and pants are classified as an “Everyday Value” so coupons won’t work against the price.

Eddie Bauer Slim Fit Breathable Pinpoint Oxford – $49.50

No pocket, slim fit, nice job Mr. Bauer.

Toulour is wearing a more traditional point substantial collar shirt.  The character is supposed to be from old money, so while the cut of his suit is modern, the details like his shirt collar and tie are more old-fashioned.  Eddie Bauer has been leaning to the older male demo for years now, but even they have a slim fit dress shirt.  They also claim it’s non iron, and has been conditioned to breath extremely well.  It better if you’re wearing a suit in the dead of summer.  Too expensive?  You could always pick up a white Athletic Fit oxford from Target for around $19.99

Navy and White Stripe Ties – Topman $20.00 | Land’s End Canvas – $39.50 | J. Crew $49.50

Keep it simple and navy.

Tolour’s tie is pretty wide, and those stripes are pretty bold.  Finding a similar Navy stripe tie (not true blue, navy) might be a bit of a chore.  But there’s plenty of options if you slim down the width as well as the stripes.  All three will work with the suit.  Easily.

Aldo Hepworth Laceup – $69.98 SALE (reg. $100) | R.& Y. “Castagna” Rev. Belt – $32.00

Dark brown is more versatile than cognac.

The Aldo Hepworth is the perfect blend of not too crazy but still European Style.  Stitching down to the toe, slightly pointed, and on sale for $70.  The Belt is thin but not skinny, and subdued.  And only $32.00
