Take over the world with Soul Music. That’s my Mission Statement. – Eli Paperboy Reed
Everybody has a friend that has great taste in Music. I’m not that guy, but I know who that guy is for me, and I trust him and his ears. When I had him listen to Eli “Paperboy” Reed, this is what he said:
“That right there is perfect party/poker/exercise/sexy time music”
It obviously has a 50’s – 60’s retro feel. When this Eli Reed character wants to roll, he can roll with the best of them. But when he wants to rock, good heavens he blows the doors off. Like a Ray Charles-Jerry Lee Lewis-Little Richard-hybrid on 5-hour energy. Playing Guitar. With the lungs of Aretha. I’d like to hear more of the rocking songs on his next album, but for now this seems to be a pretty good mix.
If I ever have a son, and he ends up being one of those basement dwelling anti-social dweebs well into his 20s, as God as my witness I will drive his ass to the nearest legal brothel, pay the woman $500, hand her this CD and tell her to put “Doin’ the Boom Boom” on repeat, then walk away leaving him there to get ravaged by a lady of the night.
That’s all.
