Usually people talk about a power tie. But what about a power dress shirt? These are the shirts that are crisp, substantial, and will need to be tailored in a touch… but once that’s done they feel indestructible.
Michael Kors makes a perfect example of this type of oxford. The collars are hot-damn dead on perfectly semi-spread. A double Windsor knot (yes, you can still wear one) looks right at home between the points. The Fabric feels much more dense than the lighter, trimmer Alfani Red Slim Fit oxford, and the stitching has that “tug all you want, it won’t give” quality to it.
A great shirt for a job interview, big meeting, or any other important event. Don’t forget to get it tailored in at the sides because otherwise the leaning-traditional cut will balloon out over your waist. Wear it with a trim fit suit and you’ll look modern but not flimsy, all at the same time.
Also available in white, and a thicker blue stripe.
