I don’t think there’s a group of people who are better suited to discuss comfortable dress shoes. These guys are standing all day and opening doors at some of the fanciest hotels in New York. The shoes they choose will most certainly be solid. Comfort, durability, and support will be priorities. No high-end Italian loafers for these fellas. They’ve got to look put together, but be ready to stand, comfortably, for an eight hour stretch.
So what brands do they choose? Emma Leighton from Footwear News asked eight different doormen and the brands they picked all say the same thing to me: Thick and sturdy.
