Yes boot cut jeans can be extremely comfortable. But if you’re wearing them with a sharp, tailored blazer… that boot cut shape at the bottom of your pant legs can start to stand out. Not in a good way.
Stock your closet with a pair or two of jeans that are JUST jeans. Slim, straight, dark. The Levi’s 514 might be a little too slim for some, but they certainly aren’t those awful skinny jeans.
