Hugo Boss Silk Pindot Tie – $66.50 | Tie Bar Silk Woven Pindot Tie – $15.99

A pindot tie is the king of all neckwear. Better than solids, even better than simple stripes. When you need to look you’re absolute best, pindots won’t let you down.

They go with solid shirts and suits, they go with striped shirts and suits. A pindot pattern that has some space between the flecks gives a tie texture and depth, without distracting from the rest of your look. They are the quintessential stand out without shouting out tie.

This is probably out of the question for a lot of us, but… consider saving up a bit of money and treat yourself to a pin-dot tie that was made in Italy. It should be good and thick, but not heavy. I had buyers remorse for about two days after I dropped $60 on a similar tie four years ago. Since then I’ve worn it to my wedding, countless important work meetings, and to more than its fair share of big nights out on the town.

I’ve had zero regrets ever since.

(For a MUCH more affordable version, that won’t feel as good but might look almost as nice, try either the black or the Navy slim version from The Tie Bar. They’re only 2.5″ wide so be warned, they’re not real thick.)

Two Distinctly different shoes. Both for the same price. Under $100.

Johnston & Murphy Bagwell Venetian – $99.99 | Trafford Moc Boot – $99.99

Hard to believe, but these two pairs of shoes actually have a few things in common. First, the maker is Johnston & Murphy. The same company that’s been providing shoes to the President of the United States, as a courtesy, since the Millard Fillmore administration.

And the second thing they have in common? They’re both on sale for just under $100. That doesn’t happen often with the Johnston and Murphy Brand.

The boot is a waxed leather, American Woodsman-styled boot. Unforgivingly simple, and that’s what makes it look so good. The loafer is the polar opposite. Italian in inspiration, sleek and sharp with an absolutely perfect toe, it would go perfectly with a lighter gray suit. Together these two pairs of shoes look like a classic Ford Pickup parked next to a Ferrari in the same Garage.

Obtaining both of those vehicles might be a pretty lofty goal… so we’ll just take the two pairs of shoes in our closet.

For now.

The 12 Days of Dappered | Kenneth Cole Toggle Glove – $88.00

Gloves can be a lot like shoes. During the winter months, they can make or break a look. They’re also a perfect gift because there really aren’t too many options out there for a guy to turn his nose up at. These gloves from Kenneth Cole are functional with the fabric palm and cinch cord, but still stylish enough to wear anywhere that’s not super-formal.

The leather tops are slick, but the overall shape still has a bit of sport to it. A perfect every day winter glove.

Cheap? Not really at $78.00. But probably worth it.

Want something a little more sleek? Try these Ralph Lauren Driving Gloves for $88.00, or, these all leather snap gloves from Banana Republic’s Monogram line for a pricey $100.00
