Same post.  And speaking of all those decisions, you guys have a lot of different opinions on them.  Some said the suggestions were boring, some said they were shocking.  What you can’t argue, is how the newly revived J. Crew Wool Ludlow Herringbone suit looks.  Terrific.

Just noticed there’s not a ton of color on the weekly wrap up.  Hope you like gray…

Darker piping gives it extra character

When it comes to wearing a coat over your suit you’ve only got two real options.  If it’s cold out:  A wool overcoat of some sort.  If it’s not real cold or it’s just plain raining, you need to be wearing a trench.  Lucky for us, in the last year or two, trench coats have made a huge comeback.  And along the way they slimmed down and shortened up.

$140 for this Charcoal Piped Trench coat is a steal when you consider Banana Republic is selling their lighter colored trench for almost $100 more.  The Alfani Red folks should get it together and offer something other than black, but until they do… this will be what we’re grabbing on any ugly weather day that’s not bitter cold.

And while you’re at it… Why not an umbrella?

If suits were dogs, a well tailored three piece in medium to light gray would be a border collie.  Nobody dislikes a border collie.  They look great, they’re smart, and they stand out in a crowd.  Just like this suit.

Made of a fabric with a faint herringbone pattern, this suit is the kind of suit you’d wear if you were looking to talk your way into some private party on Lake Como.  Got a confident smile and a good handshake?  Perfect.  Put on this suit and you’re in.  Pair it up with the large windowpane shirt shown in the photos, and hell… you  might just be able to pass off being the next door neighbor.

Whether you wear brown or black shoes… you best get them shined every time you put on this thing.  Because you’ll certainly be noticed by every woman in the room, and I hear they look at that kind of thing.
