After President Obama addressed a joint session of Congress about his Health Care Reform Proposals on 9/9/09, the Republicans got their chance to respond.  I like to think of myself as an open minded individual, so, I was looking forward to hearing both sides of the debate.

Louisiana Congressman Charles Boustany walked out to deliver the response… but I heard none of it.  The entire time I was distracted by how ridiculously large his shirt collar was:

Maybe it was an optical illusion, maybe he’s got a smaller head, but his collar looked like it was about 30% larger than any other shirt collar I’ve ever SEEN before.  Or as my wife put it:  “It looks like a shirt a CLOWN would wear!”

As far as what kind of collar it is… I have no idea.  Looks like a spread/tall/button down collar hybrid that wasn’t hitting above the Mendoza line in the Majors, so it started doing serious amounts of HGH.  For the different types of collars (plus shirt cuffs and necktie knots) head right here.

But on the positive side… Dr. Boustany might just own the only shirt collar in the country that could handle one of Michael Irvin’s neckties.
