There are a lot of diamonds in the rough on Overstock.com, and this suit by Kenneth Cole is one of them. No wonder it’s on sale for $120. The photo they’re using makes it look like crap, the model’s jacket is at least a size too big, and the tie they’ve paired it with looks awful.

When it comes to clothes, people understandably judge a book by its cover. And thanks to some poor styling choices by Overstock, it’s to your advantage that this one is still on the shelf.

The two button jacket has a modern cut, the pants are flat front, and the rise sits at the hip like all other athletic cut suits. The pants are un-hemmed, you can return it if it’s unaltered, and shipping is only $3.00

It’s not wool (instead poly and rayon) but if you’ve got any kind of muscle on you, these suits from Kenneth Cole are a good alternative to the way too skinny poly blend suits from Topman or ASOS.

The base shape really is quite good, but you’ll have to get it tailored in (I own two Kenneth Cole’s purchased from Overstock.) Swap out that tie for something a little more classic like a Navy Matte solid Calvin Klein, get yourself a slick black leather band dress watch, and finish it off with a white pocket square and a pair of black laceups. Put it all together and your new suit will look like it cost much more than a measly $120.

I tried to jump on this, but unfortunately their pants sizing is jacket minus 6 (which i think is pretty standard). I wear a 40 suit (have about a 38-39″ chest, but the 38s fit way too tight around the shoulders), and a 31 pant. So if i ordered a 40 suit, i’d get a 34 pant, which i think is too big to tailor down to a 31. I contacted their customer service, but their sizing is apparently set in stone. Anyone else have problems with top/bottom sizing?

That is a tough one. I’m a 40s, and a 31 – 32 waist. My tailor was able to get the pants down without much trouble, but like I said, I wear mainly 32s. I can wear a 31, but in some suits/chinos it’s a little tight.

The only thing that worries me is that poly/rayon blend. Is it worth the $119 or do you recommend investing that money into a wool suit?

Again… a tough one. I’ve got a couple of Wool Kenneth Cole’s (40s) and if you want to watch overstock for wool ones, they can sometimes dip this low. But that’s rare, and you gotta be quick. If you want to put that $120 towards a $220 – $280 Alfani Red or Hilfiger Trim fit then by all means. But there’s a big difference between $120 and $280 for a lot of guys… You can always return it, and shipping with Overstock is super cheap.

What about the length? I’m 6’2, but normally wear a 44R. I went to the KC store here in NYC to get an idea of the cut and the jacket fit, but their suits were suit separates, so I wasn’t able to get an idea of the un-hemmed pant length.
